The 6th Annual Flowers Whiting Initiative Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2024, from 12 PM to 4 PM, at Bon Secours Community Resource Center at 31 S Payson St, Baltimore, MD 21223.

We are excited to announce the 6th Annual Turkey Giveaway organized by the Flowers Whiting Initiative! Our mission remains focused on supporting Baltimore City's vulnerable families, particularly those affected by the criminal justice system. This year, we're not only distributing turkeys but also creating a sense of community and providing much-needed support during these challenging times.

At the heart of our efforts is the establishment of a central distribution hub, where we will provide nutritious turkeys to families in areas classified as food deserts. These communities often struggle with limited access to quality food, making our mission even more vital.

As we approach the holiday season, our goal is to ensure that every family has the opportunity to enjoy a warm, nourishing Thanksgiving meal. We aim to distribute between 200 and 350 high-quality turkeys, along with free hot meals. These meals will not only feed the body but also lift the spirit.

Our work goes beyond food distribution; we are carefully coordinating logistics, including the rental of a U-Haul truck to transport the turkeys from our depot to the distribution site. This detailed planning ensures a smooth and impactful event for all.

To turn this vision into reality, we need the support of our community. We're reaching out to our network and the broader public to join us in this effort. Our goal is to raise $6,000 by November 22, 2024, to serve multiple communities across Baltimore just in time for Thanksgiving on November 27, 2024.
